Analphabetical courses in the territory of Kosovar Division Area 1918-1941
Abstract
The literacy courses of soldiers in the territory of Kosovar Division Area were organized in the scope of the efforts of military authorities in the spread of literacy among male population. Difficulties which accompanied the running of the analphebetical courses were mostly of financial order, but it should not be neglected the fact of a constant emergency condition in the border with Albania due to which a lot of soldiers gave up the tuition. In comparison with the civilians, courses in the army had by far greater success due to the organization and continuity. Besides, any kind of cultural activities, and especially literacy, had invaluable importance in this area, and the military organization itself was ranked among modernization holders in the society.
