Kisač as a village of that name, or as Alchi (Alcs) and Kys Alcs was first mentioned in 1461 and 1464, although artifacts from the prehistoric and Roman times, as well as the migrations through the Middle Ages, can be found on the territory of the village or in its immediate vicinity and wider area. Kisač as a settlement was part of the Futog estate, established in 1703, which in the first half of the eighteenth century changed owners several times. Since the middle of the eighteenth century Kisač was permanently inhabited, initially by Serbs, and many historical records date from that period. Slovaks of Evangelical Church settled in Kisac in 1773.
