Much of the existing literature on well-being among Muslims has focused on religiosity, ignoring the benefits of akhlāq (Moral behaviour which is an important aspect of Islamic religiosity). In the present study, the relationship and impact of akhlāq and perceived stress on life satisfaction and positive and negative emotions were investigated. Data was collected from 274 Muslim adults (104 males and 170 females), with a mean age 25.08, who completed a measure of akhlāq, perceived stress, life satisfaction, and positive and negative affect. Findings showed that akhlāq is positively associated with life satisfaction and positive emotions and negatively associated with negative emotions and perceived stress. Path analysis revealed that akhlāq has both a direct effect on life satisfaction, perceived stress, and negative emotions and an indirect effect via perceived stress. Moreover, perceived stress mediated the relationship between akhlāq, and life satisfaction and positive and negative emotions. In conclusion, in light of the result of the present study, it can be concluded that akhlāq contributes positively to well-being.
