ANÁLISE DAS PROPRIEDADES FÍSICAS E MECÂNICAS DO CONCRETO PRODUZIDO COM POLIESTIRENO EXPANDIDO (EPS)
Abstract
Currently, concrete is the most utilized material in construction and their weight itself compared to applied loads is high. Therefore reducing your weight through lightweight aggregates, the target of several studies aiming at the production of lightweight concrete, known by the low specific weight and high capacity for thermal and acoustic insulation is becoming. The mechanical behavior of different traits in concrete was compared with a gradual replacement of natural coarse aggregates for Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), evaluating the density and mechanical resistance to compression. The reference concrete had resistance to compression of 27MPa at 28 days of age, since the concrete produced with EPS showed lower results, and with 10% substitution showed resistance 20,71MPa to 28 days. The concrete EPS is lighter checked by reducing the specific weight, which may be favorable in some situations.
