With the peak of the implementation of quality systems in health and to improve the performance of clinical laboratory is evident the need for knowledge of the term "measurement uncertainty" or at least it is needed to reflect on how their estimation is done in quantitative determinations of the clinical laboratory. Today, despite the technological evolution experienced by the clinical laboratory, the estimated uncertainty of the measurements are not routinely calculated, nor is a fundamental tool of medical chore, therefore, the uncertainty obtained adequately represents scientific accuracy and reliability of analytical results. When working with the uncertainty range can be found a likely values where the true value of an outcome, so that the measurement result is complete only when it is accompanied by a quantitative statement of its uncertainty.
