Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, more thanthree million Russians and members of other ethnicgroups have left the other former Soviet republics totake up residence in the Russian Federation. Theirintegration into their ‘historical fatherland’ – andparticularly addressing their housing needs – is oneof the main concerns of Russia’s migration policy.
