The purpose of this research is to understand whether Law 11.645/08 is being considered in the know-how of teachers of the municipal network of Cabo de Santo Agostinho/PE, in an intercultural perspective. And more specifically to identify the knowledge about law 11.645/08 by educators from their perception of the Indian. Recognize Indian day and the use of the textbook as specific tools to approach the indigenous theme in the classroom. And, finally, to identify the continuous formation as a preponderant factor for the construction of the intercultural professional identity. For that purpose, a qualitative methodological instrument was used, with the application of a questionnaire to the teachers of elementary education II of the municipal network of the city Cabo de Santo Agostinho / PE. It was possible to obtain information that indicates the need to disseminate knowledge about Law 11.645 / 08, in order to avoid the use of textbooks as a single didactic guide and the need for differentiated and intercultural training to change the pedagogical practices of educators in their contexts.
