A comparative analysis of traditional and competitive organizational structures
Abstract
The last decade of the 20th century and beginning of the 21th century was marked by major changes in the business environment that are exerted strong pressure on the organization to redesign existing models of organizational design. Contemporary organizational structures are formed as the companies' response to more dynamic and competitive business conditions. The aim of this paper is to explore whether the contemporary structures have common characteristics, as well as to present a comparison between all of explored structures. The starting position of this work is that there is no universal, ideal model that would be effective in all situations and all organizations. The method of qualitative analysis, description and comparison, we determined that the selected models of contemporary structures, despite their specificity, have some common characteristics and that there is no universal model.
