As the last link of product manufacturing, assembly determines the quality of mutual cooperation between parts, which is directly related to the quality of the product. Therefore, it is very important to identify the transmission of assembly errors and key assembly features in the assembly process of complex mechanical products. In order to better realize it, a recognition method based on complex network theory is proposed. The assembly network is established based on the weighting method of complex mechanical assembly features. Then, the crucial assembly features are identified by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method and grey relation analysis (GRA). Finally, taking a medium-speed marine diesel engine as the analysis object, the assembly network model is established with the assembly features as the data set of a complex network. The crucial assembly features in the assembly process are identified. The network service efficiency verifies the identified crucial assembly features. The research results show that the proposed method can effectively and accurate identify the crucial feature nodes in the complex mechanical assembly process.
