We have shown that Clostridium perfringens bacteriophage both in vivo and in vitro supresses the phagocytic activity of peritoneal cavity and spleen macrophages as well as restoration of nitro blue tetrazollium. The effect depends on duration of treatment and preparation concentration in incubation media. All changes in cell activity are entailed with the increase of tumor necrosis factor а synthesis in organism as well as in macrophage culture in vitro. The preparation does not have any direct toxic effect on macrophages.
