Abstract

Nella storia della filologia romanza della prima metà del Novecento l’«Archivum Romanicum» (fondato nel 1917 da Giulio Bertoni) ebbe una grande importanza. I molteplici interessi e le aperture metodologiche del suo fondatore si rispecchiarono nella rivista, che svolse un ruolo di primo piano nei rapporti tra il tradizionale approccio positivista e le novità metodologiche di inizio Novecento (tra cui la geografia linguistica di Jules Gilliéron, l’attenzione alla individualità storica delle singole parole di Hugo Schuchardt, l’estetica crociana e gentiliana). L’indice per autore di tutte le annate della rivista, preceduto da una breve introduzione, offre un utile strumento di lavoro, che potrà agevolare ulteriori approfondimenti sulla rivista e sul variegato contesto culturale nel quale va inserita. The «Archivum Romanicum» (founded by Giulio Bertoni in 1917) had a great importance in the history of Romance studies in the first half of the 20th century. The journal mirrored the various methodological interests of its founder and played a crucial role in the relations between the traditional positivistic approach and the methodological novelties at the beginning of the 20th century (among the others, Jules Gilliéron’s linguistic geography, Hugo Schuchardt’s attention to the historical individuality of each word, Benedetto Croce’s and Giovanni Gentile’s aesthetics). The index by authors of the «Archivum», preceded by a short introduction, is a useful working tool for future studies on the journal and its complex cultural context.
