Puncture endoscopic technique of treatment for acute compressive radicular pain syndrome

Abstract

Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) is a modernendoscopic technology that enables removal of herniateddiscs of the lumbar spine, effective treatment of compressive radicularpain syndrome, minimization of a surgical trauma, andthe shortest period of patient hospitalization, temporary disability,and rehabilitation. The article analyzes the outcomes of surgicaltreatment of 20 patients with acute compressive radicularpain syndrome using the PELD technology, demonstrates theobvious advantages of this type of operative intervention, andpresents a typical clinical example of treatment outcomes.
