PRAGMATIC ASPECTS OF SHAME IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS
Abstract
The article deals with analysis of utterances representing ethical aspects of the concept SHAME in the modern English language. The given utterances are examined from the point of view of speech acts having a certain illocutionary force and sometimes a perlocutionary effect. A parallel between the concept of shame and ethical categories of obligation, morality and conscience is drawn.
