The expansion of nursing graduation courses in the State of Mato Grosso

Abstract

This article brings a cutout on the configuration of nursing graduation courses in the state of Mato Grosso - expansion and diversification, which aimed to analyze the expansion of nursing courses in the State of Mato Grosso – Brazil ahead to education policies and health, between the years of 1996 and 2011. In this clipping, the purpose was to analyze the trajectory of the creation and deployment of Nursing Courses in Mato Grosso, through indicators of number of courses, enrolment, offered vacancies, candidates and admissions, the categories of administrative and academic organization, available in the microdata of the statistics synopses from Higher Education Census, between 1996 and 2011. It was established that the expansion of the nursing graduation course was associated to health policies and regulations and came to meet the various segments that stablish the system of individual and public health.
