Successful retrieval of broken and entrapped guidewire in a severely calcified chronic total occlusion of the right coronary artery using a 220-mm-long balloon
Abstract
We describe the first report of successful retrieval of a broken guidewire entrapped in a chronic total occlusive lesion in the right coronary artery during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The broken guidewire, with the entire PCI system, was extracted using a balloon for endovascular therapy inflated inside the guiding catheter.
