From the fusion with nature to architectural immateriality. The seduction of the image in the work of Jean Nouvel

Abstract

Jean Nouvel has been known for creating singular architectural objects. In his career there is an interest in «immaterial» architecture, either through the use of transparent, reflective elements and lighting effects, or through the fusion with nature. However, this effect is achieved more dramatically in digital renderings than in his built works. Thus, for Nouvel his graphic style is an instrument of seduction, resulting effective in international competitions and publications.
