EPISTEMOLOGICAL OUTLOOK OF TAFSIR AL-QUR’AN JUZ 30 BY ZAINI DAHLAN

Abstract

Tafsir as a product and process in the Islamic treasury has produced works written from different perspectives that give rise to different epistemes, as well as Tafsir Al-Qur'an Juz 30 by Zaini Dahlan. This study is conducted to determine the sources, methods, style, and validity of the interpretation of Tafsir Al-Qur'an Juz 30 by Zaini Dahlan. With descriptive-analytical method, the result of this article is that the more dominant source is tafsir bi al-ra'y by using the mawdu'i surah method with adabi-ijtima'i style with an emphasis on i'tiqadi and tarbawi aspects. The benchmark of truth is measured by three philosophical theories, namely the theory of coherence, correspondence, and pragmatism, in the theory of coherence Zaini Dahlan is consistent with the mawdu'i surah method, in the theory of correspondence related to the interpretation of kauniyah verses in accordance with empirical facts. In the theory of pragmatism, in his interpretation he seeks to provide problem solving that can be applied in life.
