Purpose: the article is devoted to the problem of professional identification of students in college. The subject of the analysis is the professional identification of college students as a component of social identification. The authors aim to identify the problems of the essential changes in the identification process in professional activity at the present stage of the development of society. Research methods: as the main boiler for diagnostics and testing, to determine the level of identification, the test according to the method of M. Coon «Who am I? » was used in the modification of T.V. Rumyantseva and the «Test of life-sense orientations in the modification» of D.A. Leontyev and analytics-synthetic methods. Results: according to the results of the student survey, the interrelation of the main categories and key concepts characterizing the process of student identification in professional activity is considered. The authors conclude that there is a problem with the professional identification of the student in modern conditions. Scope of results: the results of the study may be useful in developing recommendations for teachers on the development of professional identification among students.
