Organização, acesso e uso da informação: componentes essenciais ao processo de Gestão da Informação nas organizações

Abstract

This discussion aimed to demonstrate that the organization, access and use of information are essential components in the information management process in organizations. It is based on the theoretical concepts of Information Science, providing a conceptual discussion of organization, access and use of information in the context of organizations. It considers the information as a key input to decision making, highlighting its management as an essential process to organizational efficiency, and presents some information management models and the description of their stages. The discussion allows the conclusion that although each model has distinctive characteristics and stages, they all come in the midst of their steps the organization, access and use of information, which allows to consider them as key components for the information management process in organizations.
