This study elucidated for the first time that serum PGRN concentrations increased in Egyptian patients during the presence of several microvascular complications. PGRN is considered as a biomarker for diabetic microangiopathy and its severity and its serum level was increased due to close relation with the progress of diabetic microangiopathy. It is subsequently proved that PGRN level in diabetic patients who suffered from type II diabetes should be owing high solicitude for diagnosis and following up. These results fundamentals that PGRN level could be used as a potential therapeutic target for management.
