SOIL TILLAGE-TRENDS AND PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

The article is discussing the hisorical contradictions of different concepts regarding soil tillage in Basarabia(Republic of Moldova) and in other parts of the world.The author is bringing arguments in favor and against different methods of soil tillage,including moldboard plow.New tendencies in the conservation tillage systems,including No-till are discussed.The necessity of a long-term interdisciplinary research programm on sustainable farming systemwith different systems of soil tillage is required.
