Today, modern vehicles are equipped with various complex systems. Systems related to the class of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are aimed to assist drivers. Depending on the purposes, these systems can have different architectures and ways of communicating with the driver, e.g., they can use external sources and/or on-board sensors, have different sets of indicators or influence upon other on-board systems. The goals of this paper is to analyze the state of the art in the area of ADAS, develop a comparison based on the analysis and propose possible ways of improvement and future development of such systems.
