This paper aims to present discussions about the challenges faced by Physical Education teachers when they decide to implement practices based on the critical presuppositions of education. The analyses perspective are based on the following ideas: the contextualized production of the critical theories of Brazilian physical education; the limits and possibilities of the implementation of these theories in public schools based on the concept of school way of socialization; and the role of the experience of producing the conditions of physical education classes.
