Friendship Relationship Between Elderly People in long stay Institutions

Abstract

This study it had as objective to investigate the relations of friendship between aged that they meet in institutions of long permanence. One was about a qualitative study, that used the method of the study of multiple cases in the perspective of Yin and the data had been alicerçados on the basis of the analysis of the content of Bardin. The research had as participant three aged ones that they met in the institution, with age enters the 60 72 years and was in the place has at least six months. The used instruments had been: semistructuralized interview, analysis of handbooks and daily of field. The results had indicated that these aged ones have friendships with the technician of the institution of what between them and had more presented an ideal perception of friendship, but the real friendship was constructed and kept in another way. Of this form, the findings had pointed the necessity of the institution as a whole to carry through more activities and projects so that the interaction enters the aged ones more are stimulated and thus to construct relations of more positive friendship.
