Today's parents choose and plan for their children to be born into their family. These births are therefore meticulously prepared. Here, we examine the sexual dimension of this preparation. Almost all parents want to know the sex of their child in order to better anticipate, plan, organize, decide, and manage with the least amount of uncertainty. This paper focuses on one aspect of this preparation: creating a space for the unborn child. How does the process unfold, from parents buying and setting up furniture to decorating the room of the little boy or girl-to-be? Are the decisions taken jointly by the couple or, on the contrary, more specifically by the mother or father? Do the choices of decoration depend on the sex of the child to come?
