The oral cavity and the tongue of a 3 day - old hyaena pup were studied for their morphological features. The morphology of the oral cavity resembled that of canines but for, the papillae in between the palatine ridges. The dorsurn of the tongue prz5ented numerous filiform, few fungiform, few conical papillae and two circumvallate papillae. Numerous marginal papillae were also seen along the edges of the tongue.
