Adiponectin-expressing Treg facilitate T lymphocyte development in thymic nurse cell complexes
Abstract
Zhang, Cao et al. show that adiponectin is important for the selection and development of T lymphocytes within thymic nurse cell complexes. They find that regulatory T-cells (Treg) expressing adiponectin improve glucose metabolism in obese mice and promote central tolerance to inhibit mammary tumor growth. This study suggests adiponectin-expressing Treg as a promising therapeutic agent against obesity-related metabolic and cancer diseases.
