In order to clarify the dynamic corrosion process and corrosion behavior characteristics of 6061 - T4 aluminum alloy in the corrosion environment containing Cl ions, the corrosion behavior of 6061 - T4 aluminum alloy in salt spray environment was investigated by weight loss analysis, electrochemical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, corrosion kinetics and other analytical methods. Results showed that in the salt spray environment, the weight loss of 6061 - T4 aluminum alloy gradually increased, but the corrosion weight loss rate increased first and then decreased gradually. In the electrochemical test, the self - corrosion potential shifted negatively first and then positively, and the corrosion current density first increased and then decreased. Moreover, during the corrosion process, due to the deposition of corrosion products, a layer of corrosion products with a loose structure and a large number of cracks and fissures was formed on the surface of the aluminum alloy. The corrosion product layer was mainly composed of Al(OH)3 and AlCl3, which had a certain protective effect on the substrate and caused the corrosion rate of 6061 - T4 aluminum alloy to show a trend of increasing first and then decreasing gradually in the salt spray environment.
