This paper probes the novel I Will Turn off the Lights from a critical stylistic perspective. The researcher has sought to discover both the hidden ideology behind this story as well as the tools that will assist in discovering them. Considering the above points, the researcher is attempting to reveal the patriarchal atmosphere of the story and the fact that the discourse of power belongs to the males. The purpose of this study is to apply critical stylistics to Persian literature as a new method of studying stylistics. Accordingly, this paper focuses on the enlightenment of women and the improvement of their social conditions. This article will employ a close reading and literary analysis as specific methods for analyzing the data. This study has been conducted based on the layer method which first probed external textual layers and then analyzed internal ones that included microlayers such as focalizers, focalized characters, focalization continuity, frequency, duration, space, order, contrast, polarity, modality, physical codes and symbols, figures of speech and labelled words. In this novel, the hidden ideology is revealed through microlayer analysis. A variety of contextual layers were applied in order to identify the dominant ideology of this work. This analysis confirms the researcher's hypothesis that there is a patriarchal atmosphere and violence against women that leads to passivity and silence among women. In order to combat this patriarchal atmosphere, it is imperative that women find employment and participate in social activities.
