Production efficiency in the field of agriculture directly affects the socio-economic development of the country and regions, as well as their food security. Among the many factors of sustainable development of agricultural production a special place, recently, is assigned to agricultural cooperation. It allows you to achieve financial sustainability of the enterprise, increase labor productivity in it, reduce production costs, promotes the development of rural settlements and employment in them. Therefore, research in the field of agricultural cooperation relevant. The purpose of the study is to study the experience of supporting agricultural cooperatives in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and building a model for the development of agricultural cooperation. Various methods of researching processes and phenomena in the field of organizational and economic relations were used: analysis and synthesis, systemic and logical approaches to the study of trends in the development of agricultural cooperation, tabular and graphical interpretation of theoretical information and empirical data. The paper discusses the main types of support for agricultural cooperatives operating in our country. The most common of them have been revealed and an analysis of their implementation in various regions of the country has been carried out in all federal districts. Based on the data of the Unified Register of small and medium-sized businesses on the number of agricultural cooperatives created in 2018 in the country, the leading regions in this matter were identified. The experience of the development of agricultural cooperation in the most successful in this area of the region - the Lipetsk region. The result of the research is a model for the development of agricultural cooperation at the regional level developed by the authors. This model includes an integrated system for the development of agricultural cooperation, consisting of two elements (three-tier management system and institutes for the development of agricultural cooperation) and a model for supporting the development of agricultural cooperation, which will contribute to the effective development of cooperatives. The results of the study can be used to further improve the practice of supporting agricultural cooperation at the regional level.
