Cardiac Sarcoidosis Mimicking Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Abstract
A man with a presumed diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy presented after a ventricular fibrillation arrest. Review of prior cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed a pattern of late gadolinium enhancement that was atypical for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and most consistent with cardiac sarcoidosis, with diagnosis confirmed by endomyocardial biopsy.
