El problema del tiempo histórico y la imagen dialéctica en Walter Benjamin
Abstract
Este trabajo ofrece un rastreo genealógico del interés por el problema del tiempo histórico en el pensamiento del joven Walter Benjamin. Frente a interpretaciones del mesianismo en Benjamin como una categoría monolítica y estrechamente ligada a la teología judía, se mostrará una inflexión importante dentro de las transformaciones que sufre el concepto de lo mesiánico a lo largo de su obra, que abriría la posibilidad de una relación heterodoxa con el mesianismo judío. Por otra parte, y atendiendo a una relación diferente con el pasado inaugurada por la noción de "imagen dialéctica", se mostrará la importancia de las reflexiones en torno a Proust para la conformación de la misma.This Essay sketches out some moments in Benjamin's reflexions about time and history and offers a genealogy of Benjamin's early interest on the problem of philosophy of history. In contrast to current interpretations of messianism as a monolitic category closely related to jewish theology, I will show that an important turning point in the horizont of changes that this concept experiences along his work opens the possibility to a heterodox reading of this concept. On the other side, taking account of the new kind of relationship with the past that the notion of "dialectical image" enables, I will examinate the importance of Benjamin´s encounter with Proust in the process of giving shape to that notion.
