The influence of pregnancy duration on fertility results of sows
Abstract
In the population of sows (1080 heads) crosses of F1 generation (Swedish Landrace x Large White) pregnancy duration has been determined and how it has an influence on certain productive traits. During this process it was noted that pregnancy duration rated between 107 and 123 days, and that distribution of heads completly follows normal frequency distribution. Phenotypic correlation (rp) between pregnancy duration and other investigated traits was between weakly negative and strongly very weak (-0,311 do 0,207), while number of weaned piglets per litter with other investigated traits always positive and often very strong.
