Abstract

The novel The man who loved dogs, by Leonardo Padura, brought to Cuban readers a strong review of the Soviet Stalinism and its machinery against León Trotski, and also a review of Soviet intervention in the Spanish Civil War. Both important facts of 20th-century history are connected with Cuban reality after 1959.
