Catalonia has always been identified like a sun and beach destination. However, day after day, there is a lot of Tourists that search a different product and come here with one motivation, the cultural tourism. Nowadays the region’s image is transformed and the heritage begins to have more importance.The cultural infrastructures are one basic instrument to give it, the Museums to be precise. In the case of Tarragona, where the star product of this tourist trade (“Costa Dorada”) is principally the beach, we going to analyze the impact of their museums in the residents and visitors of this cultural city (the posi-tive and negative aspects), which has been mentioned World Heritage from UNESCO since 2000. More-over, we will comment the effect of to hold this categorization.
