Tourism Destinations Crisis Management Process Performance Evaluation
Abstract
The tourism industry, to become one of the leading and important industries in the world, made some steps in the path of its development. But the development in such a scale and with such a speed requires to an integrated system to support this industry in crisis situations. With the crisis, the tourism industry, tourists and the local community will be affected. Therefore, public authorities, organizations and large companies working in the tourism industry which considers the crisis management, while able to maintain aspects of sustainability of this industry in a destination and help to pave the way for long term cooperation and planning, can also be crucial for small businesses in the tourism industry. Nonexistence of crisis management plan with approach of tourism can lead to low level of readiness in tourism destinations. Thus, this study will be evaluating the crisis management process in the field of tourism of Ardabil. By objective, this research is an applied and a descriptive survey. The research statistical sample are 120 managers and experts from 19 organizations involved in the field of tourism crisis management of Ardabil and in order to analyze the data, the SPSS and LISREL software were used. The results indicated on a poor assessment of the status of crisis management process in solving the problems of natural disasters and crisis in the field of tourism of Ardabil.
