The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction specifies that international cooperation for developing countries should be significantly improved through adequate and sustainable support that complements the measures taken at the national level for its implementation. This article explores the evolution and development of Spanish cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction, focusing on some training actions promoted by the Spanish National School of Civil Protection in the field of cooperation. These actions focused on the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen their capacities in terms of disaster risk reduction through training programs and expert networks linked to the Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID).
