Catalytic enantioselective addition of organometallics to unprotected carboxylic acids
Abstract
Unprotected carboxylic acids are classically deemed to be unsusceptible to conjugated additions due to acid-base neutralization. Here, the authors show that the use of an appropriate Lewis acid allows the catalytic addition of organometallics to unprotected carboxylic acids, also in an asymmetric fashion.
