COGNITIVE PORTREIT OF A CHILD WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE: THE IMPORTANCE OF AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH. LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

Congenital heart defects are on the leading position among children mortality. Data on the long-term outcomes of cardiac surgery remain quite controversial, despite the fact that the number of studies on the quality of life of this cohort of patients, including social, psychological and cognitive aspects, has increased exponentially. Nevertheless, a review of the literature shows that the subsequent life of these children is dominated by social and psychological problems.
