What are the international ramifications of Moroccan Islamic movements non violent or otherwise? Though the former recruit internationally they are neither financed nor dictated to from abroad. The sixty or more groups advocating violence known for five years take some inspiration from foreign sources and benefit from the hundreds of fighters returned mainly from Afghanistan. Most of these groups remain local but others, especially those implicated in the bombings of Casablanca and Madrid, are probably partly financed and directed from outside the country. The clandestine character of these organizations does not make for clear proof of this eventuality.
