THE NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH SYSTEM IN BRAZIL: an analysis for EMBRAPA and Agribusiness Sector Fund in the period 2003 to 2017

The article aims to analyze the importance of Embrapa and CT-Agribusiness sector fund within the National Agricultural Research System (NARS). The theoretical framework that keeps this analysis is the focus of the National Innovation System, which assigns highlighted the importance of innovation as a determinant of the dynamics of productive activities, especially in this case, the Brazilian agriculture. The methodological procedure adopted involves a literature and descriptive research. As a result it was found that Embrapa has an important role in SNPA, as it acts as coordinator of the same organ. Regarding the CT-Agribusiness sector fund, the results indicate that this funding mechanism contributes investments and ensures the efficient allocation of resources for research and development in the Brazilian agricultural sector.
