Political development of Kosovo-Metohian problem

Abstract

This issue represents one of the urgent international problems. Processes which are the study subject of the political development of Kosovo-Metohian problem have not finished yet, so that there is not enough original material. Nevertheless, basic assumptions of Slović's monograph study had been formulated on the basis of crucial and undoubtfull data so they served as a good guide during the analysis and formation of more general conclusions. Albanian theoreticians are trying the area of Kosovo and Metohia to treat as the territory which was in the farther past and continuity some kind of separate administrative whole. It seems that such attempt was directed to prove that this area had for centuries formed some separate, quasi Albanian identity. The Albanian attitudes like these had dictated their political actions which had for their objectives internationalization of Kosovo-Metohian issue.
