Between 1939 and 1976, Josep Pla wrote more than two thousand articles for the weekly magazine named Destino, most of which were published in his section «Calendario sin fechas». Many of these papers were collected in book form, such as La huida del tiempo (Destino, 1945), with fifty-one texts. The aim of this work is to analyze the process of incorporation and adaptation of these articles in La huida del tiempo, thus focusing on how they were expanded and translated into Catalan, firstly for Les hores (El pas de l’any) (Selecta, 1953), and later, for the Obra completa, specifically for the volume XX, entitled Les hores (Destino, 1971). Based on the analysis of two chapters («Calendaris» and «Un novembre fi»), this paper aims to study the successive processes of personal rewriting and self-translation that go beyond simple linguistic changes, as well as to bring the texts closer to a new readership, different from the original publishing support.
