O conceito de stakeholder e o novo paradigma do ensino superior
Abstract
The meaning of the concept of stakeholder in university governance is examined from a theoretical point of view, and a preliminary analysis of its implementation and effects is made using examples from some European countries as well as from Portugal. The authors find that so far the presence of stakeholders in the governing bodies of universities has been less effective than it could be foreseen, but as the consequences of their presence can be negative for universities it is concluded that the process should be carefully monitored while a more complete analysis is made.
