In order to study the effect of Cr content on the corrosion resistance of rebars in the concrete in seawater splash zone, cyclic immersion accelerated corrosion experiments, weight loss rate,X-ray diffractometer (XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and other test methods were conducted to investigate the the corrosion rules of rebars with different Cr contents in the simulated seawater splash zone. Results showed that the addition of Cr element could effectively reduce the volume content of pearlite in HRB400 rebars.Due to such improvement of microstructure, the corrosion resistance of low alloy rebars was improved. The addition of Cr element also promoted the transformation of corrosion products on the surface of rebars, and the content of corrosion product α-FeOOH increased with the increase of Cr content. In addition, the value of “α-FeOOH /γ-FeOOH”also increased as the Cr content increased. In general, the addition of Cr element could effectively improve the corrosion resistance of low alloy rebars, and this effect was correlated with the Cr content.
