Thinking about the city: "Pienza"
Abstract
Insisting on some aspects mattered, and other not so many, its intentions and meanings about Pienza and its plaza as urban heart and agglutinative, its functions and connotations, there is here an exhaustive study wich, as a reflexive essay, goes on demonstring, in the rigth context of middle Quattrocento, the achievement and meaning of this pioner experience of architecture and city, as a consequence of the ideal of its cultured principal, Pope Pius II, under the essential components and coordinates of the Albertian thoughts, and the qualifed support, in situ, of Bernardo Rossellino.
