CARACTERÍSTICAS FERMENTATIVAS DA SILAGEM DE HÍBRIDOS DE SORGO SOB DOSES DE NITROGÊNIO
Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate four sorghumensilages under nitrogen rates, regarding the nfermentativecharacteristics, such as, dry matter content of originalmatter (DMom) and silage (DMs), crude protein oforiginal matter (CPom) and silage (CPs), pH, tenors of thevolatile fatty acids, densities of wadding (Dw) andopening (Do), productions of gas (Gas) and effluent (Efl). The experimental design was in randomized blocks in a4×3 factorial arrangement with four replications. Thecultivars used in this study were 1F 305, 0369 267, 0369255 and BR 700, and the three rates of nitrogen underammonium sulphate form were 0; 60 and 120 kg N.ha-1. The tenors of DMmo differed (P<0.05) among N rates andthe evaluated hybrids, presenting a variation of 21.82 to28.17%. Values of DMs only differed (P<0.05) betweenthe hybrids 1F305 and 0369 267, with averages of 27.6and 27.8%, respectively. The concentration of lactic aciddiffered (P<0.05) among cultivars and treatments varyingfrom 3.60% to 4.55%. The tenors of acetic acid differedonly for BR 700, varying from 1.29% to 1.52%. Thetenors of propionic acid differed (P<0.05) amongcultivars, varying from 0.17% to 0.24%. The densities Dwand Do of the experimental silos did not differ betweenthe hybrids, except the 0369 255.
