Are We Able to Take Care of Our Own Dentition? Results of Examination of Oral Hygiene in the High-School Population
Abstract
The authors refer to clinical survey performed among high school students. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of home oral care. Set of 316 students were examined with questionnaire and clinically. Almost all of them suffer from gingivitis. The plaque removal is made almost only with toothbrush and toothpaste, performed twice a day. Interdental cleaning is performed only by 18% of students. The results show, that only exceptionally they are able to remove the plaque from their teeth correctly (about 10%) to prevent plaque dependent diseases.
