Study of Inverse Creep In Textile Yarns

Abstract

Creep has been known and studied for textilematerials for decades. In comparison, a newlyobserved phenomenon of inverse creep seems not tohave received much attention. A new instrument hasbeen fabricated to measure creep and inverse creep intextile materials particularly yarns. Creep and Inversecreep measurements of nylon multifilament yarn,polyester multifilament yarn, cotton and wool yarn atdifferent levels of stress have been studied using thenew instrument and results are reported in the presentpaper.
