Physiological and productive response of four Glycine max cultivars
Abstract
In order to evaluate the physiological and productive response of four soybean cultivars, an investigation was carried out under field conditions at the Empresa de Semillas Villa Clara, from January to April 2020. A randomized block design with four treatments and five replications was used. The soybean cultivars ‘Conquista’, ‘Vencedora’, ‘Luziania’, and ‘BRS-284’ were evaluated in moderately washed Padded Brown soil. Sowing was manual with a distance of 0.90 m x 0.05 m, one seed was deposited per nest, at a depth of approximately 3 cm. In phenological stages V4 and R3, the physiological indicators leaf efficiency index and net assimilation rate were determined, as well as yield components, number of seeds per plant, and weight of 100 seeds, including biological and agricultural yield. The cultivar ‘BRS-284’ presented the highest leaf efficiency index with significant differences with respect to the other cultivars. Yield components showed significant differences among the cultivars; the highest agricultural and biological yield was achieved in the cultivar ‘Luziania’ with 1.6 t ha-1 and 6.7 t ha-1, respectively.
